The VISTA H3 kit — panel, keypad, sensors,
siren, camera, fob
First Alert & Resideo
Three ways we build one.
Hybrid panel · the one we fit most
VISTA H3
The hybrid, and the panel nearly every job here ends up on. It takes wired and
wireless devices, so a building with cable already in the walls does not need
rewiring — and an older system's hardwired contacts usually carry straight across.
Everything in a single 7-inch touchscreen — the siren, the camera and the radio
are all in it. Wireless only, encrypted, up to a mile of range. For a new build or a
house with nothing in the walls, where there is no wiring to keep.
IoT Breakthrough and ESX Award-winning AI cameras — bullet, turret, and dome options with AI detection, plus VX1 video doorbells and full DVR systems for home and business.
Before you price any of this: if there is already a DSC,
Honeywell VISTA, Qolsys or 2GIG panel in the building, tell us. Keeping it and changing who
monitors it is often the cheaper answer, and we will say so. This page is for a system that
is not there yet — a new build, a house with nothing on the wall, or a panel too
old to be worth keeping.
🛡 Beyond intrusion: every system can include monitored fire, smoke, CO, flood, freeze, medical, and panic protection — all under one monthly plan.
Already have a system?
Do not start from a package. Start from the panel on your wall.
Most alarm panels made in the last twenty-five years can be kept. A Resideo communicator
goes on the one you already own, the phone line goes away, and on a VISTA or First Alert
panel you get the Total Connect app on hardware that was never built for it —
arm and disarm from your phone, zone status, notifications.
From $399 installed, then $16.99 a month —
$12.99 for the first year. The one question that decides it is whether your panel can
talk on a data bus as well as dial, and that is a five-minute check.

Nothing on the wall yet?The packages below are for you
Start from a package
Every line has a − and a + on it, so these are starting points rather
than fixed kits — take the motion out, add two more doors, open Add something else
for the rest of the range. The equipment total and the monthly follow whatever is left in the
card, and nothing here is binding: we confirm it in writing before anything is ordered.
Every one of them is priced on Smart Home
monitoring. The three packages and their prices are right below this — Security, Smart
Security and Smart Home — and picking a different one reprices every card.
The three monitoring packages, and what each one includesSecurity $14.99 · Smart Security $16.99 · Smart Home $19.99 a month after the first year. First year $10.99, $12.99 and $14.99
Every package above is priced on Smart Home, which is the only
one with lights, locks and thermostats in it and the one nearly everybody ends up on. Pick
another here and the packages reprice. 24/7 ULC monitoring with police, fire and medical
dispatch is in all three — what changes is the app and the automation.
Security
Monitoring and dispatch. No app.
$10.99/ month first year$14.99 after that
Alarm transport to the ULC station, with police, fire and medical dispatch
Daily supervision of the panel, and Abort/Cancel on a false alarm
Live Ottawa agents — no phone trees, no out-of-province call centre
Not on this package: no Total Connect app, so no arming from
your phone, no alerts, no cameras and no lights or locks.
Smart Security
Everything above, plus the app and cameras.
$12.99/ month first year$16.99 after that
Adds
Total Connect 2.0 — arm and disarm from anywhere
Alerts for alarms, trouble conditions and low batteries
Sensor activity on up to 50 devices, and ninety days of event history
Cameras and the video doorbell, with a recording plan
Amazon Alexa and Google Home voice control
Not on this package: no automation. Z-Wave lights, plugs,
switches and thermostats need Smart Home — they will not pair on this one. Covers
one MotionViewer; more than that is Smart Home.
What the packages are priced on
Smart Home
Everything above, plus the house.
$14.99/ month first year$19.99 after that
Adds
Lights, plugs, switches, locks and thermostats from the app
Smart Scenes — one button for everything at bedtime
Unlimited sensor activity monitoring, not the 50 below
LiftMaster garage doors, August locks and Honeywell thermostats
One price per package, whichever panel is on the wall, and every card above prints both
the first-year price and the price after it. No contract on any of them —
month to month, thirty days’ notice. Cell backup, camera recording and 2-Way Voice
are separate lines on top of whichever package you pick: the cards show the first two as
you add them, and voice is $3 a month whenever you want it.
Keeping what is there
Just an upgrade
There is already a panel and a keypad on the wall and they are old. This
swaps those two for a VISTA H3 and leaves the rest of the building alone.
This one we have to look at first. The H3 takes wired and wireless devices, so
the contacts already in your walls almost always come across — but not every wireless
sensor works with it, and which of yours do depends on what is actually on your doors.
Nobody can tell you that from a web page. Send this through, or call
613-233-1115, and we will either work it out on the phone or come
and look. The number below is the panel and keypad only — what carries over is
settled before you are quoted, not after.

Equipment prices are installed and approximate; your written quote is
confirmed before anything is ordered. These are priced on Smart Home monitoring:
$14.99 a month for the first year, then $19.99 plus HST. The two packages below it start
at $10.99 and $12.99 — the ladder is below. No contract, month to month with thirty
days’ notice.
Too many questions, or you just don’t feel like going through it?
Of course. Leave your name and a number, and a person rings you back and works it out with you. No forms to finish, no quote to read first.

Included With Every System
Your whole system, in your pocket — Total Connect 2.0.
Every First Alert system we install connects to the Total Connect 2.0 app. Arm and disarm from anywhere, watch live camera video, get instant alerts, and control locks, lights, and thermostats — all from one app on your phone. Available on the App Store and Google Play.
The same on either platform
Everything below is us rather than the manufacturer, so it does not change with the panel:
24/7 ULC monitoring by Lanvac, police, fire and medical dispatch included in the rate, our own
Ottawa technicians, no contract — month to month with thirty days’ notice — and
pre-authorized monthly payment from a void cheque.
