Richmond is growing fast. Get the new house protected from day one.

Serving Richmond from 36 Capital Drive, Nepean · 24/7 monitoring · 613-233-1115

Richmond has gone from quiet village to one of Ottawa's fastest-growing communities — new subdivisions filling in around a village core that's been here two hundred years. We handle both ends: finishing the pre-wire in a brand-new build, and modernizing the system in a century home on McBean Street. Munster and Ashton are covered too.

New builds: finish the rough-in

Most new Richmond homes come pre-wired for security. We complete it with a First Alert ProSeries touchscreen, monitored smoke/CO and a video doorbell — typically in half a day, before the moving boxes are even empty.

Village homes: takeovers welcome

Older Richmond homes often have an existing alarm from a past owner. In most cases we can reactivate it, switch the monitoring to us for free, and add app control without new wiring.

Three ways to do this

What is on the wall in your Richmond home right now?

That one answer decides everything else — and in a lot of Richmond houses the panel that is already there can stay — on an app, or just monitored.

Nothing there yet

A new system

Our First Alert line, the one we are a Premier Pro Partner for. Usually the VISTA H3, or a ProSeries touchscreen, fitted and monitored — everything quoted in writing first.

There is a panel already

Keep what you have

A DSC, Honeywell VISTA, Qolsys or 2GIG panel usually stays exactly where it is — we add a communicator, keep your keypads and sensors, and it goes on an app.

It works, it just is not watched

Keep it exactly as it is

A working panel and a real phone line is all this needs. We change who it dials and nothing else — no app, no new hardware, nothing to buy. $9.99 a month the first year.

In Richmond, specifically

What actually comes up here

Shops, barns and outbuildings

Wireless contacts reach most garages and workshops on a normal lot. On a farm some buildings are simply too far; we will tell you on the visit rather than sell you something that drops out, and a battery camera with solar often covers the gap.

No landline, no internet — still fine

Alarm.com reports over its own cellular radio, so a rural property does not need a phone line or home internet for the alarm. Cameras are the exception; they need internet.

New subdivisions

If the builder left a panel, check it before you replace it. The lookup tells you whether it can stay and what monitoring it costs.

Questions

Richmond questions, answered.

Our Richmond home is a new build — is it pre-wired?

Very likely. Most builders rough-in alarm wiring at the panel; we finish the job in about half a day. Send us your closing date and we'll line it up.

Do you service Munster and Ashton?

Yes — Richmond, Munster, Ashton and the surrounding Goulbourn area are all regular service territory.

Can you take over the old alarm that came with our house?

Usually, yes, at no charge. A photo of the keypad through our quote form tells us what it is the same day.

Can you cover a workshop or barn away from the house?

Often, with wireless sensors. Distance, metal siding and the layout decide it — we test it on site before quoting.

Is Richmond inside the City of Ottawa?

Yes, so the Ottawa Police Service responds and the City's false-alarm fee applies — about $180 plus tax at the moment, set by the City, subject to change.

Do I need home internet?

Not for the alarm. It reports over cellular. You only need internet for cameras.
