● 24/7 Live Emergency Response — professional 24/7 monitoring by Lanvac Main: 613-233-1115  ·  After hours: 613-738-8779

Service Area

If your nearest neighbour can't hear your alarm, monitoring is the alarm.

Serving Rural Ottawa & Surrounding Communities from 36 Capital Drive, Nepean · 24/7 monitoring · 613-233-1115

From Constance Bay to Kemptville and Carp to Rockland, we install and monitor security systems across the entire rural ring around Ottawa. Out here the case for professional monitoring is simple: on a country property, a siren nobody hears protects nothing. A monitored system means a live operator sees the alarm the second it trips and starts the response — 24/7/365, whether you're home, at work, or south for the winter.

Built for country properties

Base systems monitor through your home internet (Wi-Fi or wired) — and out here, when the internet drops, the monitoring connection drops with it. That's why rural installs usually add optional cellular backup, which keeps the system reporting over the cell network when internet or power fails (add-on: one-time equipment and activation charge plus an additional monthly fee, quoted upfront). Add outbuilding and barn coverage on the same panel, driveway and yard cameras, and monitored smoke, CO, flood and low-temperature sensors — because a frozen pipe or a failed furnace can do more damage than a break-in.

One company for the whole ring

Same First Alert equipment, same live 24/7 monitoring, same free takeover of existing systems — whether you're in a village, on a farm, or in a new subdivision at the edge of town.

Three ways to do this

What is on the wall in your Rural Ottawa home right now?

That one answer decides everything else — and in a lot of Rural Ottawa houses the panel that is already there can stay — on an app, or just monitored.

Nothing there yet

A new system

Our First Alert line, the one we are a Premier Pro Partner for. Usually the VISTA H3, or a ProSeries touchscreen, fitted and monitored — everything quoted in writing first.

See home systems →

There is a panel already

Keep what you have

A DSC, Honeywell VISTA, Qolsys or 2GIG panel usually stays exactly where it is — we add a communicator, keep your keypads and sensors, and it goes on an app.

Look up your panel →

It works, it just is not watched

Keep it exactly as it is

A working panel and a real phone line is all this needs. We change who it dials and nothing else — no app, no new hardware, nothing to buy. $9.99 a month the first year.

How that works →

In Rural Ottawa, specifically

What actually comes up here

Reception comes first

A rural alarm lives or dies on its signal. We read the panel's own signal on site before leaving; if it is marginal we move the panel, fit an external antenna, or add your internet as a second path. You can check your address yourself first — here is how.

Wells, pumps and freezing

Out here the expensive failures are water and cold: a sump or well pump that quits, a pipe in an unheated room. Flood sensors send an alert to your phone the moment water is on the floor — worth more out here, where nobody is next door to notice.

Long lanes and outbuildings

Wireless sensors cover the house and most nearby buildings. For a barn, a shop or the end of a long lane, a battery camera with a solar panel is usually the better tool. We test range before quoting, not after.

Questions

Rural Ottawa & Surrounding Communities questions, answered.

Is my community covered?

If it's in the list on this page — or anywhere between those communities — yes. If you don't see your town, call 613-233-1115; the answer is almost certainly yes anywhere in Eastern Ontario within an hour of Ottawa.

Does monitoring work with rural internet?

The base system monitors through your internet, so a dropped rural connection means dropped monitoring. Optional cellular backup solves it — the system reports over the cell network whenever internet or power fails, and the monitoring station sees the failure itself and calls you. It's an add-on: a one-time equipment and activation charge plus an additional monthly fee, quoted upfront before anything is installed.

Do you charge more for rural service calls?

Monitoring costs the same everywhere: $9.99/month for your first year, then $14.99 + HST for a standard system or $16.99 + HST for a VISTA H3. Alarm.com, GSM/cellular, camera or doorbell service are additional monthly fees, quoted upfront when we discuss your options — everything upfront, no hidden agenda. Paid by pre-authorized bank payment (void cheque). Installation is quoted per property, and we tell you the full number before anyone drives out.

Is my village in your area?

If it is in the rural City of Ottawa, yes — the villages above and the roads between them. Outside the city we also cover Rockland and Kemptville. Not listed? Ask; we work in Ontario only.

No landline and no internet at the property. Does it work?

The alarm does — it reports over its own cellular radio. Cameras need internet, so on a property without it we plan the system around sensors.

Who responds to an alarm out here?

Lanvac calls your list first, then follows the dispatch choices you made. The rural City of Ottawa is covered by the Ottawa Police Service and the City's false-alarm fee applies — about $180 plus tax at the moment, set by the City and subject to change. Guard response is optional and charged per callout by the guard company.
